Euroby completes the commissioning of two Flottweg C5E decanter centrifuges at Dwr Cymru’s Ponsticill Water Treatment Plant...

Euroby’s Latest Centrifuge Installation
Euroby Ltd, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of sludge dewatering equipment and the UK supplier for Flottweg AG’s range of centrifuges is proud to announce the delivery of 7 decanter centrifuges to Thames water’s Riverside Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The upgrading of the Riverside plant by Interserve Project Services Ltd includes the installation of a Cambi Thermal Hydrolysis system. Euroby’s centrifuges will be installed at the crucial pre-THP stage where careful control of the dry solid content of the cake being delivered to the THP is required.
Euroby’s contract, which commenced in May 2010 features the Flottweg C5E decanter from the innovative C series designed specifically for municipal sludge applications.
The C5E centrifuges are part of Flottweg AG’s expanding range of high efficiency decanters designed to give maximum performance with minimum cost.
The innovative design of the centrifuge bowl and scroll promotes efficient acceleration of the product in the feed zone and – in tandem with Flottweg’s patented ‘Simp–Drive’ System - allows higher hydraulic loadings with a smaller footprint, this effective size reduction also brings lower capital costs and reported energy savings of up to 30% compared with “conventional” designs. In addition, existing customers confirm that the current configuration of the new C-Series maximizes both reliability and availability.

Euroby’s Latest Centrifuge Installation Doubles Capacity
Euroby Ltd, one of the UK’s leading sludge dewatering companies and the UK supplier for Flottweg AG’s range of centrifuges is proud to announce the completion of the installation of a 3-centrifuge alum sludge dewatering system at South East Water’s Bray Water Treatment Works.
The upgrading of the water main at Bray required an increase in plant capacity of almost 100%. The existing Hysep decanter centrifuges were approaching the end of their life and lacked the capacity and performance to cope with the upgraded plant’s projected loadings.
Euroby’s contract, which commenced in October 2009, involved the use of a wide range of Euroby’s products and capabilities.
It was essential during the installation period that the Plant was able to function as normally as possible. To facilitate this, Euroby deployed one of its mobile centrifuges from its large fleet, thereby enabling sludge to be dewatered during the installation of the replacement centrifuges.
The full scope of the work involved the removal and disposal of the existing decanters and ancillaries, design and supply of the support and access steelwork and installation of the 3 new Flottweg C3E decanter centrifuges. The existing MCC’s were refurbished and new cabling installed as part of Euroby’s contract.
The C3E centrifuges are part of Flottweg AG’s new range of high efficiency decanters designed to give maximum performance with minimum cost. Each centrifuge is capable of processing in excess of 15m3/hr alum sludge with a dry solids content of 4% at Bray WTW.
The new system is currently operating and full takeover of the system is anticipated at the end of April 2010.

Euroby Home and Dry With Veolia

Euroby Limited, one of the UK’s most successful sludge treatment specialists, has been awarded the contract for the supply, installation and commissioning of an alum sludge dryer for the prestigious Clareville Water Treatment Plant project, currently under construction by Veolia Water Ireland Ltd.

Euroby, who also offer sludge dewatering plant and equipment and operate a large mobile contract dewatering fleet won the Clareville contract against strong opposition from several major European dryer companies. Euroby’s expertise is gaining ever wider recognition as this project in Ireland follows recent dewatering equipment successes in Oman and the Middle East.

The Clareville project is yet another major undertaking for Veolia who are a leading Service Provider & Contractor in the Water & Waste Water Utilities Business in Ireland.

Euroby attributes the success of the bid for the 1 tonne per hour evaporation belt dryer to a combination of safety, price, performance and Euroby’s extensive experience in the field of sludge drying.

This is the second major belt dryer project won by Euroby in recent months, following on from the contract awarded by Wessex Water for a 3 tonne per hour sewage sludge dryer at its Avonmouth sludge facility. The client confidence we are now seeing is testament to the safety, economics, build quality and safety of our dryers.

The Clareville belt dryer offered a level of performance and safety commensurate with the stringent requirements of today’s – and tomorrow’s – environmental and energy conscious markets. Euroby believes that these recent contracts are a sign of renewed confidence in sludge drying.
