The technical focal point of the high-performance
FLOTTWEG centrifuge is the SIMP® Drive concept.
The SIMP® drive is a technical breakthrough, which
offers fully independent scroll drive and maximum energy
efficiency.
Being a gear drive it provides not only the best energy
efficency but also a very accurate control at the lowest
differential speeds.
Moreover, the special multi-stage design provides a scroll
drive independent from the bowl drive. |

In effect the
SIMP® drive combines the best features of hydraulic and
gear drives in one innovative package and it has now
superceded hydraulic drive and conventional gear drive
systems formerly offered by FLOTTWEG in almost every case.
SIMP® drive control is based on a double inverter
system (main drive and scroll drive) and the SIMP®
controller which can easily be interfaced into the customer’s
system.
The centrifuge can then be run at optimum process
performance independent of the product properties and with
protection against overload or blockage.
Optimium sludge thickening and sludge dewatering are
easily achieved and in a dual function facility can easily
be set up such that the same machine can be used to
thicken surplus sludges and dewater digested for example.
This dual function facility is unique to centrifuge
operation as is the possibility to thicken surplus sludges
without use of polymer flocculant and still achieve solids
recoveries above 90%.
Centrifugal thickeners can be supplied and installed in
buildings, or in containers and can be purchased or hired. |
